OKLAHOMA CITY – Terry Neese, CEO and founder of the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women, will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday at the State Department in Washington, D.C.
Members of the Oklahoma City-based institute and members of the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council were invited to meet with Clinton. Neese is a member of the council.
Clinton will discuss her goals and vision for the women and children in Afghanistan with council members. Council members will also discuss ways in which they can support Clinton’s goals.
“I am pleased to have the opportunity to meet with Secretary Clinton to discuss the numerous successes of our Peace Through Business program in Afghanistan,” Neese said. “This institute is concerned about the impact of the possible drawdown of American troops there and I look forward to discussing this concern with the secretary.”
The institute’s Peace Through Business program provides long-term business training to women entrepreneurs from Afghanistan and Rwanda.
