8th Annual PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS(r) Graduation Gala
George W. Bush Presidential Center, 2943 SMU Blvd, Dallas, TX 75205. Hosted by Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women and AT&T.
The Graduation event is a culmination of an intense three-week training program designed by PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS®’s Dr. Terry Neese and supporters. The colorful pageantry of women receiving their certificate for completing Business Boot Camp, Mentorship Week and the Summit is not to be missed. Enterprising Women magazine will award one Afghan and one Rwandan business woman as Enterprising Woman of the Year for their respective countries and we will hear more inspiring stories from these brave and inspiring women.
Keynote speaker for the graduation event is Secretary Margaret Spellings. Spellings was the longest serving member of the George W. Bush team, moving from Austin, TX where she served as a senior adviser to the then-governor, then continued on to Washington, D.C. after his election in January 2001 to advise on domestic policy. In 2005, President Bush chose Margaret Spellings to be United States Secretary of Education where she led the way for No Child Left Behind and started dialogue on revamping higher education.
After consulting on education and other matters in Washington, DC, Spellings returned home to Texas to take the helm of the George W. Bush Presidential Center where she is responsible for leadership at the Bush Institute, manages the daily business operations for the entire center and is in collaboration with the National Archives and Records Administration.
