August 16th, 2010 Dialogue with Women Entrepreneurs: Listening Tour
New York City, New York
WHAT
The Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women (IEEW) is conducting only a few listening tours across the United States to hear from women business owners… and New York City is one of our stops!
The listening tour will be led by IEEW CEO & founder Terry Neese, who is a leading national and international expert concerning women and business. The purpose is to gain critical knowledge and input on subjects important to our businesses.
For example:
- Do women business owners need greater access to capital?
- Are there education programs IEEW could develop to help you create more jobs?
- Would greater access to corporate procurement opportunities be helpful?
- Is the government helping or hindering your business. How so?
The bottom line: we want to make sure women business owners are heard!

Dialogue with Women Entrepreneurs: Conference Call
August 4th, 2010IEEW recently hosted a national conference call on August 3, 2010, with women business owners to discuss ways to improve economic development and job creation in this country. Donors Trust, a 501c3 organization whose mission is to build a legacy of liberty, helped host this call, which was similar to a focus group.
To anchor the call, we had economic expert and business owner Susan Stewart give the opening remarks on the call. In her speech, she noted some important economic factors and data to help set the stage for our discussion, stressing that fact that it’s critical that entrepreneurs understand the economic circumstances we are facing and how those circumstances impact business.
The call was widely successful, as our inboxes have been inundated with e-mails asking for more discussion, more answers and a way to keep this dialogue going.
