2008 Peace through Business
Sponsorship Opportunities
The Institute for Economic Empowerment
of Women is a non profit public charity dedicated to the economic
empowerment of women. The Institute focuses on educating,
mentoring and coaching women, in the United States and abroad, who are
seeking to acquire entrepreneurial skills to help start and grow a
business. IEEW works collaboratively with educational
institutions as well as government and private industry to execute our
mission.
In partnership with the U.S. State
Department, USAID, and our sponsoring universities, IEEW is bringing
women entrepreneurs from developing countries to the United States to
engage in a high level 4 week business basics curriculum and mentoring
program. The business basics curriculum will include principles
of business management, fundamentals of human resource development,
ethical issues in operating an enterprise, financing strategies, and
the use of technology to enhance education and long-distance
learning. There will also be a mentoring component which will
allow women business owners in the United States to share knowledge
with women from around the world; and women in the United States to
learn from them.
